When selecting a firearm, you must make sure to pay attention to detail. For example, selecting a firearm is similar to choosing the right vehicle for your lifestyle in a sense. You wouldn't purchase a two door sports car if you live in the rugged back country somewhere in the mountains where it requires four wheel drive to get to and from. Meaning, if you are looking for a firearm that you can take out to the range and shoot 1,000 rounds per day, look into calibers in which ammo is cost efficient when buying in large quantities. Now if you are a hunter for instance and discharge your firearm maybe 100 times a year or less, you can be more specific about selecting the right caliber for what you intend to hunt with it where ammunition may not be quite as cheap per round, but require more knock down power. After you have selected the appropriate caliber/style of firearm for your intended use, you must go through a government required background check issued by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF). Once you have completed, submitted, and passed the background check and received confirmation, you are good to go!
